Salute America's Space Shuttle by building
model flies straight and high and at the
apogee of its climb, it releases its orbiter,
booster descends gently beneath its own
parachute while you stand below and
proudly say "Gee, that shuttle didn't cost me
2.7 billion dollars." The Space Shuttle
stands ~ 10 inches tall and the orbiter is ~ 7
inches long- meaning that you will have to
stand 274 feet behind the completed kit to
have your picture taken with it and claim
that you were standing by the real thing.
The flight fins add another 3.7 inches to the
stack and are removable for display. The
orbiter even has a trim screw that allows you
to adjust the elevator to get that perfect
glide, or to get a realistic Shuttle approach
angle which will be so frightening that you'll
immediately set it back to a perfect glide. It
flies on 18mm "B"s and "C"s and does it's
best stuff on a C6-3. We have solved the
stability problems of the OOP Estes 1284
shuttle kit here- so ours flies up rather than
sideways. The kit is fairly complex, however,
and not intended for the first time builder or
someone who is tasteless enough to buy those blister-packed buy-it-and-fly-it kits. Average skill
level model builders can get this one going and above average skill level builders will have tons
of fun making fun of the lesser skilled model builders. Just because it's a cruel world and that's
the way things go but even they too will be able to make this one look real.
NO ENGINES ARE INCLUDED IN THE KIT
