Dr. Zooch Rockets
Sputnik

Celebrate 50 years of Soviet domination of the World!… okay… maybe not. So what if the old Soviet Union mo longer exists, you can still commemorate  the rocket that started the space race 50 years ago. That’s right, buy it NOW and build it in time to launch it on October 4th, the same day that the R-7 booster launched into orbit Sputnik 1 exactly 50 years ago. This Dr. Zooch flying model rocket kit may look like a stripped down version of our popular R-7 Luna because- that’s exactly what it is… because that’s pretty much what Sputnik was- an early R-7 booster with a little satellite in its nose. Later the R-7 was given a second stage and launched the Luna. See, it all works out.

Anyhow- this model rocket stands ~11 inches tall, has a fin-span of ~5 inches and a basic empty weight of ~1.62 oz. It is a kit requiring full assembly. The kit contains everything you need except building tools, paint and glue. NO ROCKET ENGINES COME WITH THE KIT. It flies on a B or C engine that you must obtain separately at a local hobby of craft store. The display stand seen in the pictures is not included in the kit. Flight of over 800 feet can be obtained. It recovers by parachute and may be flown time and again.

Commonly asked questions:

Q: Is this kit a kit? (Yes folks… we actually do get this question)
A:
Sorry- this question is too dumb to respond to- in fact we lost I.Q. points just reading it.

Q: Is it true that the Soviet Union no longer exists?
A:
Actually, we believe they’ve just been on vacation for the last decade and a half.

Q: Is there a real Sputnik in the rocket?
A:
No, we got caught trying to sneak one out of the Soviet Union back in 1956 and had to spend the next 49 years in the salt mines working 18 hour days… so we decided not to try that again.

Q: I think your questions and answers are so offensive that I was going to buy one of your kits, but now I won’t! What do you think about that?!
A:
Hey… I recognize you… you were one of the guards in the salt mines.

Q: Can I pay with a personal check?
A:
NO! We’d rather go back to the salt mines than take a personal check.
